Man arrested in connection with exposure incidents at Dutch Bros. drive-thru Location: Gateway, Springfield & Coburg Road, Eugene Case Number: 18-9061 Date/Time: 10/21/18 @ 9:40 a.m. More Information: Lieutenant Scott McKee Completed By: Lieutenant Scott McKee A 19 year-old Eugene man has been arrested and charged with three counts of public indecency for a series of exposure incidents occurring at Eugene and Springfield Dutch Brothers drive-thru coffee kiosks. The man targeted female clerks, exposing his penis while exchanging small talk with the women during drive-thru transactions. It was during one such interaction on October 16 at 4:23 pm that Carlos Michael Patton, age 19 of Eugene, was contacted by a female manager after a barista reported Patton had exposed himself to her while she was taking his order. During the contact with the female manager, Patton continued to expose himself to the manager while speaking to her and disclosed among other things that he was a student at LCC. Investigators reviewed surveillance video of the incident and obtained a license plate number from the vehicle. Locating the vehicle at Lane Community College, Public Safety staff at the college assisted Springfield Police in obtaining leads regarding Patton and arrested him at his Eugene residence. Patton was lodged at the Springfield Municipal Jail for four counts of Public indecency for his conduct during three visits to Dutch Bros. drive-thru kiosks at Coburg Road and Gateway locations. Anyone with information about Patton and any other incidents of this nature is asked to contact Detective Terry Murray at the Springfield Police Department at 541.726.3714. Springfield police and ODFW officials have issued a new alert due to two recent cougar sightings on Wayside Loop in Springfield. The two sightings occurred today at 7:30 am and 12:30 pm. In both instances, a lone cougar was spotted in the densely populated residential neighborhood, which encircles Robin Park – a neighborhood park popular to children. A neighborhood notification message was sent to residents in the area. Predatory cats can be attracted to the sounds of children at play and police are again renewing their warning for parents and play area supervisors to be vigilant to the presence of cougar(s) in the area and to report cougar sightings.
