The Last Praetorian (Empire At The End Of The World)

The Gods are in exile. The realms of men, elves and dwarves are in ruins. The Destructor has all but established his dominion over the world. The only hope lies in the Wanderer, the prophetic enemy of the Naugrathur the Destructor–but where is he? Tarion, the last Praetorian of the mortal Imperium sets out to find the Wanderer. With the help of the maimed Thunder God, a benevolent dragoness and her son, a pair of pixies and a druidic barmaid, the last Praetorian plunges into the wilderness of Midgard. Hot on his trail is the God-wolf Fenrir and the most powerful dragon of the age Karkedon the Wicked. Yet his most dangerous foe, even beyond the Destructor, may be the beautiful but perilous Goddess Freya. Can Tarion find the Wanderer before the Destructor’s dominion brings eternal darkness on the world?

    Harkers – York

This was such a nice place to eat – just across from Betty’s – which looked pricey and very crowded. The hand written board outside said “Harkers stands on part of the site of the former Praetorian Gate, the Roman entrance to York. Remains of the original gate are still visible in our basement. This building dates from around 1824. It housed the Yorkshire Insurance Company. His grand office with marble fireplace and panelled walls remain intact on the first floor. Come in and see this beautiful building in all its glory!!” The fish and chips were just lovely, and I liked sitting in the window, looking down on the passers by!
