Beginning Nov. 1, you will have the opportunity to sign up for affordable health coverage, and we know this can be a daunting task. That’s why we are excited to share important information about a new partnership in Central Florida that will help you navigate the Health Insurance Marketplace.
Florida Hospital, Orlando Health, Enroll America, Primary Care Access Network, SRA International and others are teaming up with Heart of Florida United Way to make 2-1-1 an Affordable Care Act information hub.
With this partnership, United Way’s 2-1-1 specialists can answer your basic questions about health insurance, 24-hours a day. They can even schedule appointments for you to meet with an Affordable Care Act Navigator, who can help you find the best plan for your needs.
Can you afford health insurance?
Over the years, Sheri Morton and her self-employed husband paid more for their health insurance than they did for housing, food and transportation combined. The Kissimmee couple turned to the Health Insurance Marketplace for options, and signed up for plan that saves them thousands of dollars a year.
Nearly 95 percent of Floridians who already signed up on the Marketplace qualified for financial assistance, and most Americans can find plans for $100 or less per month.
Don’t think you need health insurance?
Andrew Becker, like many young adults, didn’t have health insurance when he was seriously injured in a car accident. The medical debt and stress mounted as he recovered. Determined not to fall into more unexpected debt, Andrew turned to the Marketplace to ensure he had health insurance to protect him in the future. He found a policy that costs $48 a month.
Don’t go broke over a health emergency. Protect your future.
Overwhelmed by the process?
After working 24 years as a clerk with a state agency, Emily Scott lost her job and was without health insurance. The Winter Park resident was relieved when a Navigator met her in-person and helped maneuver through the Marketplace website and choose a health plan.
You don’t have to navigate this alone. Trained professionals are ready to help you sign up.
Each of these Central Floridians used the Marketplace to protect themselves. Not only does it provide affordable health insurance options, but they all have a peace of mind in knowing they are covered.
We encourage you to sign up for health insurance and learn more by dialing 2-1-1 or by clicking the icons on the right.
