Hayes Hofler’s 40+ years of civil litigation and appellate practice have carried him into every trial and appellate division in all geographical areas of the state, including federal courts of North Carolina, where he is certified in all three districts and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit, seated in Richmond, Va. His continuing success in trial and appellate work aid in the prompt settlement of many litigation cases through negotiation or mediation.
Mr. Hofler began representing clients in civil litigation and appellate cases from the time he graduated from University of Virginia School of Law and began practicing law in 1974, as an associate in a prestigious Durham law firm. In 1981, he helped found a highly successful Durham civil litigation law firm before leaving to form his present law practice in 1990.
Careful Case Selection and Persistent, Personal Involvement:
In selecting its clients, Hayes Hofler, P.A. identifies potential cases which appear particularly meritorious. When your case is selected, you will not be relegated to an associate or less experienced attorney. Mr. Hofler and his experienced staff interview all clients and witnesses, and perform thorough investigations, themselves. Mr. Hofler personally drafts the pleadings, motions, memoranda, and briefs himself. He is there with you in court and at mediation. When help is needed outside the firm, Mr. Hofler has easy reference to, and will associate as necessary, other highly experienced attorneys whom he has had the privilege of meeting and associating with over his many years of practicing law in North Carolina, at no extra cost to his clients.
We are up front and considerate in our assessment of your case. We welcome frank discussion and agreement about our fees. We will consider and discuss an array of fee structures for the cases we do select. If you have a particularly meritorious case, we will find a fee structure that suits you. We do not want to waste your time and money on cases that lack merit, but we want to make sure there is experienced representation for the cases that have merit, large or small.
