Welcome to the Kansas City Woodturners Website

The Kansas City Woodturners (KCWT) is a non-profit chapter of The American Association of Woodturners and serves woodturners in the Kansas (KS & MO) metropolitan area. Members gain and share knowledge, learn how to use woodturning lathes, save money with our sponsors and get to see how demonstrations from the pros. We invite anybody interested in woodturning, or in learning about woodturning to join as a member.

The Kansas City Woodturners own 12 lathes of various sizes and brands for our members who don’t have their own, or would like to try out a different lathe before buying.

Upcoming Meeting Demos:
June 2019 Demo Your club will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary. A panel of early club members will discuss when they joined the club, what the club was like then, why they joined the club and how the club has changed. We hope there will be plenty of audience participation.
November 2019 Demo Sue Bergstrand will demo something after her week learning from Dixie Biggs. Topic later.

Saturday Open Lathes: Open every Saturday morning 8:30am to Noon.
Thursday Evening Open Lathes: Open every Thursday evening 6:00pm to 9:00pm. EXCEPT Thursday, November 28th (Thanksgiving Day).

Upcoming Events:
June 15th (Sat) KC Woodturners Annual Picnic at Shawnee Mission Park, Shawnee, KS. This is a potluck lunch with the club providing hamburgers and hot dogs. Members bring something to share. 10:00am to 2:00pm. Map to Shelter #6: Click Here.
June 22nd and 23rd (Sat, Sun) Maker Faire at Union Station, KCMO. There will be a volunteer signup sheet for this event.

August 30-31 and Sept 1 (Fri, Sat, Sun) KC Irish Fest at Crown Center KCMO. There will be a volunteer signup sheet for this event.
