COUNCIL: September 24 Council and RDA Board Meeting Recap

At Tuesday’s meetings, the Board approved a $3.3 million loan to CW Urban for a new housing development at 378 West 300 South named The Olive. The project would contain 120 condominium units in downtown, ranging in size from studios to two-bedroom units and penthouses. Board Members noted that while the project doesn’t specifically guarantee a level of affordability, The Olive would encourage home ownership in the downtown area at a variety of income levels.

COUNCIL: September 17 Council Meeting Recap

At today’s meeting, the Council received a briefing from the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute about an apartment market analysis for the Greater Salt Lake Region and Salt Lake City-specific census trends. The Institute reported that despite an increasing supply of housing, particularly multi-family in the past 10 years, Salt Lake City rents continue to outpace other areas of the state.

COUNCIL: September 3 Council Meeting Recap

At today’s meeting, the Council received a briefing about a proposal to adjust the boundaries between Salt Lake City and the City of Millcreek. Currently, a small area bounded by 1300 East Street, Highland Drive, Miller Avenue and Woodland Avenue would become part of the Millcreek, as well as a roundabout located at approximately 2300 East and 2700 South.
