abc carpet home is currently looking for an experienced Sales Associate to be a part of our community and aide to the success of our first Brooklyn store front in Industry City! The Sales Associate must be professional with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills geared towards driving sales and overall store profitability. In addition, you will be responsible for upholding the company mission by providing excellent product knowledge and dedication towards a positive customer experience.

Drive sales, overall store probability and success by working towards reaching an individual and overall sales goal;

Offering a welcoming environment to the client by offering a high standard of customer service;

Willing to build a long- term relationship with the client rather than a “one-shot” sell;

Building a strong client database by gathering all clients’ information;

Ability to service multiple customers at one time with courtesy and sincerity;

Develop a sense of pride for our store and products by acquiring an extensive knowledge of our entire inventory including furniture, rugs, lighting, tabletop, linens and more;

Applies sales transaction knowledge to process routine discounts, holds, gift certificate sales, special orders, exchanges, refunds, credit vouchers and alterations while abiding by corporate policy and procedures;

Ensure proper care is taken for all sales, paperwork, receipts and invoices, ect. Assist with shipping requests as needed;

Assess and executes sales goals; promote brand and products according to latest direction from management/marketing, ect.;

Actively participates in all merchandising activities including, but not limited to: daily stock maintenance, product transfers, and folding and floor changeovers;

Day to day operation of high-end store; ensure that proper opening /closing procedures are completed to high standard, assist with maintaining displays and proper promotional materials, utilize POS system to track and execute all sales, manage inventories and supplies, assist with requests for repairs, etc.;

Understand abc’s mission statement and goals to be able to inform and discuss with customers.;

Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Minimum of 2 years sales experience in a luxury retail environment preferred.

Flexibility in schedule, weekends and holidays are required

Work effectively in both a team environment as well as independently.

Excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills—verbal, written, time management, project skills.

Strong planning skills with a sense of priority and attention to detail within a revenue driven atmosphere.

Dedicated to high levels of customer service and sales productivity.

The ability to work under pressure, to meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Adheres to company policy and procedures; performs duties as workload necessitates; maintains a positive and respectful attitude; communicates regularly with manager about department issues; demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload; consistently reports to work on time prepared to perform duties of position; meets department productivity standards.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit; use hands to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee can regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
