The Native American Veterans Income Tax Settlement Fund (NASF) was established July 1, 2016. The Department of Veterans’ Services may only accept claims for processing through December 31, 2019.

2019 National Vietnam War Veterans Day Ceremony

March 2019: Join us in thanking and honoring our nation’s Vietnam veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice on Friday, March 29. This ceremony is part of a program sanctioned by the 2008 National Defense Authorization Act to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.

Arizona joins Governor’s Challenge to Prevent Suicide

March 4, 2019: Arizona is one of seven states participating in the inaugural Governor’s Challenge to Prevent Suicide among Service Members, Veterans and their Families. The challenge is hosted by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

New Veteran ID Card

Nov 2017: The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced that the application process for the national Veterans Identification Card (VIC) is now available for veterans.

Veterans who served in the armed forces, including the reserve components, and who have a discharge of honorable or general (under honorable conditions), will be able to apply for the ID card.

ADVS Veteran Toolkit Program

July 2017: The Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services is proud to launch the Veteran Tool Kit Program. It was created to help unemployed veterans get the supplies they need to start working. Surveyed veterans repeatedly said they were ready to work, but needed a few things to get them there, ranging from boots and tools to bicycles.

Veteran Cemeteries

ADVS is honored to manage three Arizona Veteran Memorial Cemeteries in support of veterans and their loved ones.

Veteran Driver License & Plates

Veterans may now have a VETERAN designation placed on their Arizona-issued driver license, commercial driver license, identification card, or learner permit, denoting their military service. Find more information online HERE.

Several Military/Veteran license plates are also available from ADOT’s Motor Vehicle Division. Click on each image for details.

The Veterans plate requires military/veteran documentation.

The Women Veterans and Freedom plates have no current requirement for military or veteran status.

Arizona’s Veterans appreciate your support of these Military/Veteran vehicle license plates.

NOTE: The three plates listed above are fostered by the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services and include in their fees a portion as tax-deductible contribution to the Veterans Donation Fund. All other specialty plates support their own respective sponsors or beneficiary causes.
