Graduate Admission Requirements

Prospective students may apply for admission to the MS in Applied Behavior Analysis throughout the year. Each candidate will be reviewed by the Graduate Faculty Committee to determine the right course of study for each applicant.

To become a certified BCBA , you must complete the required coursework and fieldwork required by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, and you must be recommended by Bay Path University to qualify for the examination. For more information on the examination, you can visit the Behavior Analyst Certification Board web site .

To fulfill the requirements for a graduate degree in Applied Behavior Analysis in accordance with the requirements and policies of the ABA, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. If you are seeking the BCBA credential, you must also take and pass the qualifying examination administered by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board .
  2. The ABA Program includes a supervised fieldwork requirement which is spread over a minimum of 4 semesters. To fulfill this, the student must be working or volunteering in a setting serving individuals appropriate for behavior analytic services. Direct service requirements range from 15 – 22 hours per week. Supervision requirements can also be done part-time and spread over a longer period. The student receives instruction and supervision during this experience by a Bay Path University BCBA.
  3. You will be eligible to initiate the application for certification when you have successfully passed all required components including all degree requirements (coursework and mentoring), hold a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, have a grade of B or better in every course, have completed the required coursework, have been recommended by Bath Path University to the BACB , and have passed the BCBA certification test available through the BACB .
  4. Requirements in the ABA graduate program are subject to modification due to changes as stipulated by BACB and/or Bay Path University.

In addition to the required coursework, applicants must submit the following documents to the Office of Graduate Admissions:

  1. A completed application – Apply Now (Application fee is waived if you apply online)
  2. An original essay of at least 250 words on the topic “Why the MS in Applied Behavior Analysis is important to me, my career goals, and my life and professional goals?”
  3. Undergraduate and graduate transcripts (a GPA of 3.0 is preferred)
  4. A current resume

  7. Submit copy of MTEL results (optional)
  8. Submit a copy of your current teaching license (optional)
