The Fuqua School of Business is a challenging and rigorous academic institution to which admission is highly selective. Acceptance is based on the ability to excel, not only academically, but also in the business community.

Pursuing a business degree is a significant investment of your time, energy, and money, so it is important that you find the right program to help you achieve your personal and professional goals. “Fit” with a program occurs at the intersection of your story and ambitions and the school’s story and ambitions. Before you apply, take some time to reflect on both.

We are accepting applications for the next Daytime MBA Class, which starts in 2017 and graduates in 2019.

Given the competitive applicant pool, you are encouraged to apply in the round in which you can submit your “best” application.

The Early Action option is ideal for applicants who have completed their MBA research and have decided that this is the best program for them. Applicants admitted in Early Action must submit a tuition deposit along with official transcript(s) by December 9, 2016.

If your ability to enroll is dependent upon receiving merit-based scholarship assistance. you should apply during Early Action, Round 1, or Round 2.

International Applicants: you must apply during Early Action, Round 1, or Round 2 for visa processing.

Re-applicants. reapply for during Early Action or Round 1.

Talk to family, friends, and mentors. Visit our campus and attend a recruiting event. and then decide whether the program is right for you.

Review the online application and deadlines. Think through all aspects of the timeline (including interview dates, decision release dates, tuition deposit dates, etc.) before you develop a plan for completing your application in the round that works best for you.

The Admissions Waitlist

We know that being on the waitlist can be stressful. Read this student blog post with answers to 3 top questions and concerns.

Review the decision timeline and deposit deadlines for your application round. On the decision notification dates for each application round, you will be notified via email of your admission decision by midnight (Eastern Time). The decision notification email is not viewable on mobile phones or other mobile devices.

If you are accepted to the program, you are required to submit your nonrefundable tuition deposit (must be paid by check or money order; credit card payments cannot be accepted) and hard copies of your official transcripts by the deposit deadline to reserve your place in the class.

The best way to learn about Fuqua and the Daytime MBA program is by experiencing it firsthand. We encourage you to take part in our campus visit program and Blue Devil Weekend (for admitted students). Visiting campus will not only provide insight to inform your final decision to join the program, but will also provide you with information on transitioning to the Durham area .

Shortly after admission, admitted students receive access to the Incoming Student Website. It is the main source of information for admitted students and is particularly helpful if you are still undecided about joining Team Fuqua. It is important that you visit the site often for updates and guidance.

If applicable, visa application information will be included in your admission packet along with specific deadlines for submission. Visa processing can take up to several months to complete, so it is critical to apply in Early Action, Round 1, or Round 2 if you require a visa to ensure that you are able to join the program.

Based on qualifying events, you may be eligible to receive an application fee waiver.

Qualifications for Fee Waiver:

You may be eligible to receive an application fee waiver if you meet at least one of the below criteria:

Military, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps or Teach for America Service:

You are a member of the U.S. military—active duty, active reserve, or honorably discharged/completed service (within 3 years). Only voluntary service is valid. Mandatory service may not be used for qualification.

You are an active participant or alumnus/alumna of the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, or Teach for America.

You receive Fuqua Admissions Committee approval. In your application, include the reason for your waiver request and the name of the committee member granting approval.

Member of Forte Foundation, Management Leadership for Tomorrow or the Posse Foundation:

You are a current member of the Forte Foundation, Management Leadership for Tomorrow or the Posse Foundation.

Attend a Fuqua Admissions Event or Diversity Event:

Before submitting your application, you register for and attend at least one of the activities listed below. Indicate the event type, location and month of attendance in your online application. (MBA Fairs are not considered qualifying events.)

Student or Alumni Recommendation:

You obtain a recommendation from a current Fuqua student or alumnus/alumna. Current Fuqua students must complete the online peer recommendation form. while Fuqua alumni must complete the alumni recommendation form.

In your online application, include the name, program (Daytime, Cross Continent, Weekend Executive, Global Executive, Master of Management Studies: Foundations of Business, or Master of Management Studies: Duke Kunshan University) year of graduation (if known), and the email address of the person who submitted your recommendation.

Instructions to Apply for Fee Waiver:

Meet at least one of the above criteria.

Select an Application Round in the Personal Information section of the online application.

Choose the “fee waiver” option within your online application and follow the related instructions.

Submit your application after all sections are complete, however do NOT submit your application if you are asked for credit card information.

Following the above instructions is the only way to receive an application fee waiver. If you submit your online application without selecting the “fee waiver” option, then you will not qualify for the waiver, and no refund will be available.

Allow a minimum of 2 business days for the admissions office to process your application fee waiver. You will receive a fee waiver confirmation via email when your waiver is activated.

The Annual Security Report and Annual Fire Safety Report include institutional policies concerning campus safety and security, as well as statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on Duke University property and on public property adjacent to campus and fires that have occurred in residence halls.
