Back in 1955, a man named Jim Hensley had a dream to bring ice cold beer an American tradition best enjoyed with family and friends to thirsty Phoenicians. That year, Jim started his company with just 15 employees and, together, they distributed over 73,000 cases of Anheuser-Busch beer to folks in Phoenix.
Today with a proprietary service fleet of more than 1,100 vehicles and the support of over 1,200 employees Hensley is one of the largest family owned and operated beverage distributors in the nation. Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona with branches in Chandler, Prescott Valley and Tucson, Hensley brings refreshment to people all across the state. Today, Hensley Beverage Company’s portfolio champions over 800 brands of beer, craft brew, premium spirits and refreshing non-alcoholic beverages too. In addition, through our Quench Wine division, we carry more than 1,500 labels represented by more than 140 suppliers. Some recognizable brand names in our overall portfolio of products include Anheuser-Busch (Budweiser, Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, etc.), Sierra Nevada, Four Peaks, 3 Amigos Tequila, Xyience Energy Drinks, along with the Quench Fine Wine Portfolio.

Hensley employees may voluntarily contribute to the Hensley Employee Foundation, which in turn gives back to our community. Many employees also give their own time by volunteering through various organizations that assist children or those less fortunate. This includes the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization, West Side Food Bank, and many other programs during the holidays to feed the homeless. The company also hosts two large blood drives per year.
Hensley is known to be a significant contributor to the community. Recent recipients of their generosity include Folds of Honor Foundation, Boys Hope Girls Hope, Concerns of Police Survivors, Alhambra School District, Leukemia Lymphoma Society, United Fire Fighters Association, Teach for America, Phoenix Indian Center, Child Crisis Center, Chicanos Por La Causa, Homeward Bound, and many more. The company is also proud to have recently been honored with the 2014 Corporate Equality Award from the Human Rights Campaign and is proud of their reputation for giving back.

The Bud Man 20-year service award recognizes the proud pasts and career achievements of men and women who have dedicated 20 years to our company.
The bronze sculpture of a young man delivering a stack of Budweiser beer was designed by sculptor Dora Perry, and commissioned by Jim Hensley in 1990 to recognize loyal employees who celebrate their 20 th anniversary with our organization. Since the award was first commissioned, close to 200 employees have received the Bud Man Bronze and have been recognized for their commitment to Hensley.
The characteristics often found among those who mark their 20th year are humility, patience, perseverance, professionalism, resilience, cooperativeness, salesmanship, and attention to detail.
Each honoree has a unique history with our company. Each of these individuals has created an admirable career and no two are alike. We recognize the commitment these individuals have made to themselves and to Hensley. They have helped us to create the foundation of our solid, admired company and give us inspiration as we look to the future.
